In the coming weeks, residents from Langa, Kuils River, Morningstar, Kensington, Westlake and the surrounding areas will have the opportunity to be assisted by City Human Settlements experts directly. This is the first phase of the roadshow and more areas across the metro are being added and will be communicated to residents in due course.
Acting Mayoral Committee Member for Human Settlements, Alderman James Vos visited residents and Human Settlements officials taking part in the roadshow in Kuils River.
‘We are excited to start our roadshow this week and in the coming weeks we will be visiting residents in many more areas. Our team of experts are ready to assist you and we encourage all interested residents to reach out to us.
‘Working directly with the community is what makes the difference and we will continue to do our very best to ensure we deliver to the people who need it the most. The City is on track with positioning its human settlements programmes as catalysts for meaningful economic growth in our communities. Providing affordable housing opportunities across the city ensures economic inclusion for residents and we are doing our utmost to build a City of Hope for all.
‘The Human Settlements Directorate has been lauded for its top performance, spending 99,3% of its more than R880 million capital budget in the 2022/23 financial year. This is money being spent on directly improving the living conditions of vulnerable households and providing and enabling decent accommodation,’ said Alderman Vos.

• Affordable housing enquiries
• Informal settlement queries
